The abyss of our society

Help, i am about to quit ... because some people just seem to be so damn stupid.

Just heard a story about an eighteen year old boy(legal age here), who quit school on his own.

His mom wanted to wake him for school one day and he just said: "Mom, i left school, let me sleep."

I mean, WTF?????????

How can a kid, (even if he's of legal age, he's still a damn kid)  quit school, without permission of the ones who are paying and feeding him? That's some freaky bullshit if you ask me. 

If i was one of that parents, i would have booted him out of the house afterwards. Because you don't get any money for a child, that is not in any kind of school or educational facility. He just made up his mind, without knowing ANY consequences. Isn't that really stupid?

IMO that kid ruined his whole life now, without knowing it. And that's just sad. Why?

Because here we are, the 21st century and nearly all kids in developed countries have the RIGHT to go to school and learn how to deal with the oncoming decades of their life. Including the time when you're supposed to earn money to feed yourself and a family maybe. 

In some countries like Germany it is so damn important to do so and earn good marks too. Because otherwise you will end up washing dishes or cleaning toilets despite all dreams/illusions you may have had for you future. Maybe a famous quote here, taken from "Spongebob Squarepants":

"Spongebob:" I have had a dream...

"Mr.Crabs": I have had a kidney stone ... but all things are meant to end.

It seems to be like eating cake, they tend to be very delicious, but if you ate too much you don't want any for the rest of your life. Although, if you ask me, theres never too much to know, because knowledge can be something creative and is always different.

Maybe it is just our society or the school-system wrecking our kids.  Everyone wants to be a music-star or something like that, but did you find a kid who wants to be a famous scientist? Thats because Education and Knowledge is uncool these days ...

That was really the kind of Off-world topic i was searching for to have a nice start into this Blog.
